Job summary

Georgetown University seeks an Episcopal Chaplain to advance Campus Ministry with Anglican and Episcopal partners, focusing on undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Qualifications

• Master of Divinity from accredited graduate theological school
• Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent supervised ministry experience
• Three years’ relevant ministry experience, including preaching/worship leadership, program planning and pastoral counseling
• Ordination as an Episcopal priest, licensed in the Episcopal Diocese of Washington
• Ability to work creatively and collegially with chaplains, faculty and staff of other Christian and non-Christian religious traditions
• Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Attention to detail; self-direction and ability to manage projects, set priorities, and navigate complex situations, both pastoral and organizational
• Requires regular evening and weekend hours, including Sunday services

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral presence, reflective programming and retreats; sacramental services and pastoral counseling
• Develop and maintain campus partnerships around intellectual, social and spiritual formation
• Support ecumenical and interreligious ministry environment within Campus Ministry
• Collaborate with Protestant Chaplaincy and other traditions to engage students and staff
• Represent the university at campus ceremonies and events; engage alumni and donors as appropriate
