EPINET Clinical Research Coordinator

This position will assist in the administration and coordination of the Eastern Pennsylvania arm of the Early Psychosis Intervention Network (EPINET) grant. Responsibilities include recruitment and conducting quantitative and qualitative assessments/interviews with participants, entering data and assisting with data checking/cleaning and maintaining all necessary Internal Review Board (IRB) documents/binders.

Job Description

The EPINET Clinical Research Coordinator (E-CRC) works under the supervision of the EPINET Principal Investigator (E-PI) to assist in the administration and coordination of the Early Psychosis Intervention Network (EPINET) Connection Learning Healthcare System (CLHS) hub grant. Responsibilities include:

  1. Working closely with Pennsylvania and Maryland First Episode Psychosis (PA FEP) Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) clinic administrators and staff to identify eligible individuals for study participation.
  2. Recruiting and screening potentially eligible individuals for hub-wide research projects.
  3. Scheduling research sessions and following-up with study participants.
  4. Guiding participants through informed consent activities (including child assent and parental permissions as warranted).
  5. Conducting all study-related quantitative and qualitative assessments/interviews with participants at all timepoints (i.e., baseline, 6-months, 12-months).
  6. Completing data entry following established protocols.
  7. Training and supporting FEP CSC staff in clinician, client, and family research and clinical data collection.
  8. Assisting with quality control checks during data collection phases across all Pennsylvania sites.
  9. Collaborating and communicating with colleagues in the Pennsylvania Early Intervention Center (PEIC)/HeadsUp.
  10. Performing other responsibilities as assigned.

The E-CRC reports to the E-PI. The E-CRC will coordinate activities with the Pennsylvania Early Intervention Center (PEIC)/HeadsUp and data collection supervision will be conducted by the HeadsUp Data Analyst.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Education, or related field and 1 to 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word/Outlook), virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom), familiarity with research database systems (e.g., REDCap) and mental health care, and some administrative or research experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Skills and experience preferred: Knowledge of psychosis/First Episode Psychosis (FEP) and the Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) model, experience with the FEP population, familiarity with coordination of large scale/multi-site research projects, experience administering structured/semi-structured assessments, knowledge of Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Position is contingent upon continued funding.
