Job summary

The University of New Mexico Neurology Department seeks an epileptologist to join our neurology team in an open rank, clinician educator track position, dedicated to clinical care and building a robust clinical practice at UNM Hospital (UNMH).

UNM Hospital houses the NAEC level 4 Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and provides a full spectrum of epilepsy services, with opportunities for teaching and research in a thriving academic environment in Albuquerque, NM.

Qualifications

• MD degree or equivalent.
• Board eligible/certified in neurology.
• Completed adult neurology residency.
• Completed an epilepsy or neurophysiology fellowship.
• Eligible for medical license in the state of New Mexico.
• Eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient epilepsy clinic, inpatient EMU coverage and reading of both inpatient and outpatient adult EEGs.
• Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and participation in department research activities.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including a neurosurgeon, neuropsychologists, learners, and APPs.
• Provide high quality epilepsy care in inpatient and outpatient settings at UNM Hospital.
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
