Ascension's Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee is seeking an experienced Epileptologist to join a busy, well-supported Neurology Center. The position offers inpatient and outpatient care, access to a full epilepsy program and strong multidisciplinary collaboration within a regional health system.

You will lead evaluations, coordinate care, and participate in advanced diagnostics and treatment pathways, contributing to a robust clinical practice and patient-centered outcomes.

Qualifications

• MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board required prior to hire date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced medical evaluation and treatment of epilepsy patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Coordinate discharge planning with Case Management for seamless care transitions.
• Manage referrals and act as admitting, attending, or consulting physician for hospitalized patients.
• Oversee Video EEG, EMU and tele-epilepsy services within a comprehensive Epilepsy Center.

What You Will Do

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated Epileptologist to join a busy, well-respected practice, supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network.

• Step into a well established partnership with a group consisting of a general neurologist, a neurohospitalist team and neuropsychologists in a well developed Epilepsy Center
• Practice Setting: Inpatient and outpatient Video EEG, EMU and virtual visits / Tele-epilepsy. Established surgical program and investigational medication trial program.
• Access to Neurodiagnostic lab: EEG and long-term monitoring rooms. Support staff.
• Employed position within a nonprofit health system
• Manage patient referrals and act as the admitting, attending, or consulting physician for patients requiring hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, ensuring care aligns with the needs of the patient, medical staff, and hospital.
• Apply appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills to evaluate and manage patient illnesses.
• Coordinate discharge planning effectively with Case Management to ensure seamless transitions of care.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
