Job summary

Ascension's Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee seeks a physician to join a collaborative epilepsy program offering inpatient and outpatient Video EEG, EMU, and tele-epilepsy.

You'll work with a general neurologist, a neurohospitalist team, and neuropsychologists in a well-established center within a nonprofit health system. As an employed physician in a nonprofit system, you will coordinate referrals, manage admissions and discharge planning, apply diagnostic and treatment skills, and

Qualifications

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient referrals and admit, attending or consulting physician for hospitalized patients.
• Apply diagnostic and treatment skills to evaluate and manage patient illnesses.
• Coordinate discharge planning with Case Management for seamless transitions of care.
• Engaged in inpatient and outpatient epilepsy care including Video EEG, EMU and tele-epilepsy.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Step into a well established partnership with a group consisting of a general neurologist, a neurohospitalist team and neuropsychologists in a well developed Epilepsy Center

• Practice Setting: Inpatient and outpatient Video EEG, EMU and virtual visits / Tele-epilepsy. Established surgical program and investigational medication trial program.

• Access to Neurodiagnostic lab: EEG and long-term monitoring rooms. Support staff.

• Employed position within a nonprofit health system

• Manage patient referrals and act as the admitting, attending, or consulting physician for patients requiring hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, ensuring care aligns with the needs of the patient, medical staff, and hospital.

• Apply appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills to evaluate and manage patient illnesses.

• Coordinate discharge planning effectively with Case Management to ensure seamless transitions of care.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
