Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment.
• Associate’s Degree in a laboratory science field with 1 year of experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a biology related field.
• Experience handling a mice colony.
• Experience with genotyping.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory techniques procedures required for experimental studies.
• Perform technical lab duties as delegated by the Research Staff Supervisor related to the assigned project.
• Schedule and perform the various analyses needed to complete the project.
• Assist with establishing and scheduling of various procedures and analysis.
• Prepare reagents and purify chemicals using chromatography, distillation, etc.
• Identify, separate and quantify various substances.
• Conduct tests and procedures utilizing various laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Accumulate data from analyses, prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables for presentation to Research Staff Supervisor for final analysis and preparation for publication, grant proposals and applications for research funds.
• Potentially order laboratory supplies and equipment.

Education
