Job summary

Virginia Department of Health is seeking two mid-level epidemiologists for Respiratory Diseases and Vaccine Preventable Diseases. The roles involve conducting epidemiologic investigations, surveillance, and data-driven studies across districts or statewide programs.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to collect, QA, analyze, visualize, and present statistical data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with health professionals and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out investigative and analytical epidemiologic activities in a district, region, or statewide program.
  • Conduct surveillance activities and epidemiologic studies with data analysis and dissemination.
  • Coordinate a specific epidemiology program, train staff, and monitor data collection.
  • Work under supervision, with independent determinations on scope and direction.
