Job summary

Virginia Department of Health is seeking mid-level epidemiologists for Respiratory Diseases and Vaccine Preventable Diseases. The roles involve independent epidemiologic investigations, data analysis, and program consultation under limited supervision.

Telework is allowed two days weekly; reporting occurs at the Richmond Madison Building three days a week. The positions require strong knowledge of surveillance, biostatistics, and effective communication with health professionals and the public.

Qualifications

  • Experience with epidemiologic investigations and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of disease surveillance and outbreak investigations.
  • Ability to communicate with health professionals and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out epidemiologic investigations and assessments.
  • Participate in surveillance activities and data dissemination.
  • Coordinate program activities and train staff as needed.
