Morehouse School of Medicine ( MSM ) seeks a highly analytical and collaborative Epidemiologist / Population Health Data Scientist to join the Department of Pediatrics in support of the Solve Sickle Cell Initiative. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to population health and outcomes research, design and analyze epidemiologic studies, and support the integration of basic science discoveries into clinical care across hospital and community settings. Findings from community implementation and health services research will, in turn, inform future translational and basic science questions, reinforcing a bidirectional research model.
Morehouse School of Medicine ( MSM ), The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Children’s), and Emory University School of Medicine (Emory) are partnering in a $16M expansion of their Sickle Cell Disease Program called the Georgia Solve Sickle Cell Disease Initiative (Solve Sickle). The Initiative is supported by the Georgia Research Alliance, and investments from MSM , Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Emory University. This initiative will focus on the development, testing, and implementation of new therapies in sickle cell disease and includes the addition of three faculty members at Emory and MSM . The Department of Pediatics at MSM invites qualified applicants to apply for the keystone position of this initiative as Data Scientist/Epidemiologist. This position may be funded by extramural grant funding and continuation is contingent upon the availability of these external funds.
