Job summary

State of Missouri seeks a skilled public health data analyst for the Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) program in Jefferson City. You will gather, analyze, and interpret environmental health data to reveal connections between exposures and disease, and you will create maps and visualizations to inform decisions.

You will work with SAS, Tableau/ArcGIS, and other tools to disseminate findings, manage grants, and support prevention activities.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in public health or biological, physical, or environmental science.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in surveillance, detection, prevention, and/or control of exposures and/or disease.
  • Experience with SAS or other statistical software and general programming techniques is desirable.
  • Experience with data visualization and Geographic Information Systems (Tableau or ArcGIS) is desirable.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Substitution of education or experience may be considered.

  • Work independently and collaboratively on projects to identify, evaluate, and prevent public health impacts of exposures to environmental hazards
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret environmental health data to draw connections between environmental exposures and disease
  • Use mapping and statistical software to analyze, visualize, and display data
  • Disseminate/communicate findings of environmental health evaluations/studies
  • Mangage environmental health grants and budgets, ensure grant deliverable progress, report grant progress to federal partners
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate program activities related to prevention and control of harmful environmental exposures
  • Work closely with diverse groups of people including scientists/experts in other programs/agencies

Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood Dr., Jefferson City, MO, 65109.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
