Swoon in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an Epicor Systems Architect / Lead Developer to take ownership of the architecture across the company’s ERP and adjacent systems. You will influence the path from Epicor Classic to Kinetic, guide integrations, and set technical standards while collaborating with the VP of Technology.
You’ll lead architectural decisions, mentor developers and a Business Analyst, and work with external partners to deliver robust, scalable solutions across ERP, CPQ, rules engines,
Some developers love solving the problem in front of them. Others want to understand how all the pieces fit together, why systems aren't working as well as they could, and what it would take to build something better. If you're the person people turn to when the technical decisions get complicated, this opportunity puts you in a position to make those decisions.
A nearly 100-year-old manufacturing company, ranked #2 nationally in its industry, is investing in its technology and looking for an Epicor Systems Architect / Lead Developer to help shape its next chapter. This is a profitable, growing business with average employee tenure of more than 13 years and a strong track record of stability. With a project run rate exceeding $200 million in sales this year, the company has a solid foundation and plenty of reasons to keep evolving.
Here's where things get interesting: the company is moving from Epicor Classic to Epicor Kinetic, and you won't simply be handed a migration plan to execute. You'll help determine the technical approach, guide integrations, establish architecture standards, and make key decisions about how Epicor connects with the company's other applications and data. You'll work across Epicor Kinetic, SPECs CPQ, RepConnect, the CIS rules engine, internal web applications, and SQL Server. Your decisions will influence how these systems communicate, how information flows through the business, and how the technology environment supports future growth.
This is a chance to step into a role with real technical ownership. The VP of Technology has been closely involved in architecture decisions and is looking for someone who can take the reins on day-to-day design and technical direction. You'll become the go-to technical authority for the Internal and External Applications teams, review designs, guide developers and vendor partners, and manage a Business Analyst. You won't be responsible for managing every team's daily workload or setting company-wide technology policy. Instead, you'll own the architectural decisions that help those teams build the right solutions.
You can stay close to the technology while operating at a broader systems level. If you've spent years developing with Epicor and .NET and are ready to have a bigger say in how an entire application landscape is designed, this is an opportunity to make that move without leaving the technical work behind.
You won't have to convince leadership that architecture matters. The VP of Technology understands the importance of sound technical decisions and wants someone who can independently own them. You'll have direct access to leadership, the ability to influence how the Epicor modernization moves forward, and the opportunity to establish standards that make development more consistent across teams.
You'll need to look beyond individual applications and think about how the entire environment fits together. That means making decisions about integrations, data ownership, system design, security, and long-term maintainability, while helping multiple teams and an external development partner work within a consistent architecture. You'll need to be comfortable making calls, explaining the reasoning behind them, and knowing when a decision needs to be escalated. If you prefer to focus exclusively on coding within an established framework, this may feel like a big shift. If you enjoy untangling complex systems and creating the technical direction others can build on, you'll have plenty to own.
This is an opportunity to move beyond building individual applications and take ownership of the architecture that connects them. You'll have a voice in a major Epicor modernization, work closely with technology leadership, and help establish the technical foundation a growing business will rely on for years to come.
