Job summary

Delta Dental seeks an Applications Lead (Epic Interoperability) to own design, implementation, and support of Epic interfaces, Bridges, and data conversions. You will lead a team of interoperability analysts, drive secure and scalable integration, and partner across Enterprise Architecture, Security, and vendors.

The role balances hands‑on technical work with leadership, focusing on HL7, FHIR, REST/SOAP, and data conversion across clinical and operational data exchanges.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional related experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Hands‑on Epic interoperability experience including Bridges; certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HL7 v2, FHIR, REST/SOAP web services.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, testing, and optimization of Epic interfaces and data conversions.
• Serve as senior technical authority for interoperability services and interface availability.
• Balance hands‑on work with people leadership and team development.
• Establish architecture, governance, and design standards for HL7, FHIR, and related patterns.
• Oversee end‑to‑end interface lifecycle from requirements to production support.
• Provide data conversions, mapping, ETL coordination, and post‑load verification.
• Manage upgrades, releases, certificates, and downtime procedures.
• Mentor interoperability analysts and ensure adherence to standards.
