Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an intermediate-level analyst to master EPIC Clinical System interfaces, HL7, data conversions, and API-based integrations. You will lead design, testing, and documentation tasks while engaging with clients and vendors to drive informed decisions.

The role emphasizes solving interoperability challenges, implementing FHIR-based APIs, and ensuring security and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3 years IT/clinical healthcare experience or equivalent.
• Epic Bridges certification and experience required.
• FHIR experience highly preferred.
• Experience with web technologies (HTTP, REST, JSON, OAuth).
• Strong background in APIs, integration, or interface technologies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and support API-based integrations across internal and external systems
• Collaborate with application teams, vendors, and stakeholders to define interface and API requirements
• Support implementation and optimization of FHIR-based APIs and modern interoperability standards
• Troubleshoot API and integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution
• Participate in system design discussions related to SMART on FHIR applications and launch workflows
• Ensure adherence to security, performance, and organizational integration standards
• Document technical designs, workflows, and support procedures
• Contribute to continuous process improvements and automation initiatives
• Successfully achieve certification in Epic Bridges as determined by the Epic course catalog.
• Demonstrates professional behavior when interacting with clients and coworkers
• Demonstrates the ability to collect workflow and other pertinent information from clients
• Apply in depth system understanding to current issues and development challenges in order to develop alternative solutions with pro and con analysis
• Demonstrate ability to understand not only tasks assigned but to anticipate ongoing work and take ownership of entire process.
• Prioritize and delegate tasks as needed
• Proven working knowledge of the HL7 standard
• Develop interface specifications and data flow diagrams
• Participate in the integration and data conversion process for each implementation
• Working effectively and negotiating between multiple parties
