Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Data Specialist in our Quality Data Reporting department. The ideal candidate will perform advanced data preparation, analysis, and reporting to support quality improvement efforts, with growing independence in complex analyses and reporting standards refinement.

Requirements include experience with Epic Caboodle/Clarity, SQL, Python, and BI tools. This role emphasizes strong stakeholder engagement and data-driven decision support within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field required.
• 3+ years of related experience for Level II.
• 5+ years of related experience for Level III.
• Intermediate to expert analytics, visualization, and SQL/Python proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Collects, validates, and maintains datasets supporting quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives.
• Develops and maintains dashboards and reports; improves data processes using BI tools.
• Participates in regulatory readiness and quality reporting activities.
• Partners with stakeholders to translate analytic outputs into actionable insights.
• Interprets performance trends and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Translates analytic findings into actionable recommendations for teams.
• Recommends data structure and reporting improvements as needs evolve.
