The Role

The healthcare market is rapidly changing, and Kyndryl is seeking passionate practitioners to assist major healthcare organizations with their cloud journey. Spun off from IBM in November 2021, Kyndryl is the largest infrastructure services provider globally, serving many Fortune 500 companies. We aim to do more for our clients by expanding our cloud, software, and data consulting services, with healthcare as a key focus.

We are looking for a driven and highly skilled Epic Cloud Architect (ECSA - Epic Certified Cloud Architect) with Epic technical expertise and cloud experience to support healthcare providers and payers transitioning to cloud solutions. You will serve as a subject matter expert leading migration and optimization initiatives for Epic systems in the cloud.

Responsibilities
  1. Design & Implementation:
    • Architect and design high-performance, scalable, and secure cloud solutions for Epic applications (EHR, Epic Cogito, MyChart, etc.).
    • Lead Epic systems migration to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), optimizing for cloud-native environments.
    • Collaborate with Epic EHR specialists and IT teams to align architecture with technical and business requirements.
    • Provide consulting on transitioning from on-premise to cloud-based Epic systems.
  2. Cloud Infrastructure Management:
    • Oversee cloud infrastructure for Epic systems, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance.
    • Utilize cloud-native technologies (containers, Kubernetes) and manage services like load balancing (Citrix NetScaler, Big IP F5) and VDI solutions.
    • Monitor and optimize cloud environments for cost and performance.
  3. Security & Compliance:
    • Implement security measures to protect patient data and ensure HIPAA, HITECH compliance.
    • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to maintain security and compliance.
  4. Collaboration & Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor cloud engineering teams, ensuring best practices.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Epic with other healthcare systems.
    • Create technical documentation and diagrams for cloud-based Epic solutions.
  5. Innovation & Optimization:
    • Stay updated on industry trends, cloud technologies, and Epic solutions to drive innovation.
    • Leverage cloud capabilities to automate workflows and optimize infrastructures for healthcare clients.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 5+ years of experience with:
    • Public Cloud Certification/Experience (AWS, Azure, etc.)
    • Epic ECSA/ECSM Certification
    • Deep understanding of Epic systems and infrastructure components (ODB, Hyperspace, MyChart, etc.)
    • Microsoft Windows server administration, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy
    • Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops/DaaS, Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop
    • Knowledge of load-balancing technologies (Citrix NetScaler, Big IP F5)
    • Experience leading Epic technical implementations and cloud solutions
    • Creating technical documentation and system diagrams
    • Strong knowledge of network protocols and healthcare IT operations
Preferred Skills
  • Over 10 years of Epic experience, especially in client-server administration
  • Proven success in multiple Epic cloud projects
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, computer science, or related field
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools and SharePoint
  • Experience with Unix server administration and Epic ODBA certification

Compensation

The salary range in the U.S. is $134,160 to $254,880, depending on location, skills, and experience. Specific ranges vary by state and city. The role may include bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
