Summary:

Must be willing to relocate to the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area.

This position is an independent contributing information technology professional responsible for planning, developing, testing, installing, maintaining, and optimizing applications and related information technologies. The role includes establishing, developing, and promoting standard architectures, hardware, and software components. The professional will develop clinical and business solutions by investigating processes to understand data and communication flows, supporting user needs, and coordinating support requests within the IS department. Acts as a liaison among IS, clinical end users, patient care departments, vendors, and technical experts. Supports efforts to ensure safe patient care by developing and delivering clinically and technically sound solutions for customer technology needs. Recommends process changes based on risk and failure analysis, modifying workflows and procedures to maximize system advantages.

Expected Activities Include:
  1. Monitoring the effectiveness of applications and related technologies in meeting end-user requirements.
  2. Modifying applications as needed to meet user requirements.
  3. Defining and developing reports, preparing statistical summaries and reports.
  4. Participating in application upgrades and resolving issues related to installed applications and technologies.
  5. Diagnosing failures in application software and related technologies.
  6. Analyzing issues, identifying trends, and maintaining quality control of all application implementations and enhancements prior to release.
  7. Staying informed about vendor and industry developments in areas of responsibility.
  8. Communicating and documenting relevant activities and items.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Clinical Information Systems, Informatics, Information Technology, or Sciences required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Epic Ambulatory/Healthy Planet/Smart Form certification is strongly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of healthcare industry experience, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • At least 5 years of experience with clinical software, hardware technology, or databases, including designing, configuring, training, or implementing clinical systems applications.
Licensure/Certification:
  • Epic certification required within 6 months of employment, including two test retakes.
