Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a professional billing follow-up specialist to pursue outstanding claims, resolve denials, and coordinate with payer and clinical teams for accurate resubmissions.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in professional billing follow-up, knowledge of Epic EHR, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and strong communication and analytical skills. This role offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional billing follow-up experience.
• Experience with denial management and payer communications.
• HIPAA and patient confidentiality knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on outstanding professional billing claims and resolve denials.
• Communicate with payers via phone, portal, or written correspondence.
• Coordinate with coding, registration, and clinical teams to correct claim errors.
• Document all activities clearly in Epic and other systems.
• Meet productivity and quality metrics established by the department.
• Mentor and train new staff as needed.
