Job summary

University Hospital in Newark, NJ is seeking a self-directed Information Systems professional to plan, develop, implement, and support clinical information systems. You will analyze, test, and implement procedures to solve complex problems and develop testing strategies aligned with system build and downstream requirements.

You will collaborate with end users and vendors, maintain project plans, and create detailed training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in health-related or related field.
• 3 years of information systems experience; patient care environment preferred.
• Direct experience with electronic medical records; Epic experience preferred.
• Must complete certification on an Epic application within 6 months of training.
• Ability to maintain and manage project work plans.
• Effective written and oral communications.
• Equivalent education or experience substitutions may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provides analysis, design, and support of hospital systems including testing, training, implementation, and ongoing support.
• Documents, communicates, and assists in problem determination and resolution.
• Interacts with end users, vendors, and related areas to gather requirements.
• Assists in installation of software and/or hardware; coordinates with IS&T departments.
• Develops and maintains detailed documentation for training and build projects.
• Delivers effective user training and promotes proper system usage.
• Contributes to department policy and procedure development and adherence.
