Job summary

Medasource is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the implementation of third-party laboratory applications and integrations with Epic Beaker as part of a large enterprise Epic rollout. This 12-month contract role is fully remote, with full-time hours, starting ASAP.

The ideal candidate has 8–10+ years in healthcare IT project management, strong vendor governance, cross-functional coordination with Beaker teams, clinicians, and vendors, and a solid understanding of laboratory

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of healthcare IT project management in large health systems.

• Direct PM experience with third-party lab applications and Beaker integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management for third-party laboratory app implementations and their integrations with Epic Beaker.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including the Epic Beaker team, laboratory leaders, IT, interface teams, and third-party vendors.
• Manage vendor engagement, scope, deliverables, schedules, and issue escalation.
• Manage interfaces between third-party lab systems and Beaker, including middleware and instruments.
• Align build, testing, and go-live timelines with the Beaker team and enterprise program.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and resource constraints and drive mitigation strategies.
• Support testing coordination and go-live readiness planning.
• Ensure adherence to PMO standards, documentation, and lifecycle governance.

Job Summary

Client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the implementation of third-party laboratory applications and integrations alongside Epic Beaker, as part of a large enterprise-wide Epic implementation. This is a delivery-focused PM role. The Beaker workstream will be primarily managed by the Epic application team while this resource will own the third-party lab application ecosystem and the integrations with Beaker.

The client is prioritizing strong project leadership and vendor management over hands-on analyst build skills. Candidates should have managed third-party laboratory system implementations and integrations within Epic environments, with a solid understanding of laboratory workflows. Beaker certification is not required, but working knowledge of Beaker is desirable. The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare IT PM who can manage full-lifecycle implementation efforts, complex dependencies, coordinate across the Beaker team, clinical stakeholders, and external vendors, and drive execution through project go-live.

• Align build, testing, and go-live timelines with the Beaker implementation team and the broader enterprise Epic program
• Identify risks, dependencies, and resource constraints and drive mitigation strategies
• Support testing coordination (interface, integration, and instrument validation), workflow validation, and go-live readiness planning
• Ensure adherence to PMO standards, documentation, and lifecycle governance

Required Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of healthcare IT project management experience within large or multi-hospital health system setting
• Proven experience managing full-lifecycle Epic implementations or Epic-integrated clinical application projects at an enterprise scale
• Direct PM experience implementing third-party laboratory applications and integrations within Epic environments
• Experience with Epic Beaker (certification not required)
• Strong understanding of clinical laboratory workflows (clinical pathology, anatomic pathology, or related areas)
• Experience managing vendors and cross-functional, multi-stakeholder initiatives
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with LIS implementations or migrations
• Familiarity with interface and integration workflows (HL7, instrument and middleware integration)
• Experience with laboratory regulatory requirements (CAP, CLIA)
• PMP or equivalent project management certification
