A technology staffing firm is seeking an experienced Epic Beaker Analyst to enhance laboratory workflow and optimize the Epic Beaker modules. Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Epic Beaker AP and/or CP build, workflows, and laboratory operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Innovations middleware and device interfacing.
  • Background supporting clinical laboratory processes and regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP).
  • Familiarity with OTX for security monitoring, data exchange, or threat awareness in healthcare environments.
  • Background supporting clinical laboratory processes, LIS systems, and regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission).
  • Experience performing system testing, troubleshooting, configuration, and workflow optimization.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with lab staff, pathologists, and technical teams.
  • Ability to manage projects, track deliverables, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support Epic Beaker AP and CP including build, configuration, and workflows.
  • Manage configuration updates, change requests, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with lab teams to translate workflow needs into system requirements.
  • Apply OTX (Open Threat Exchange) as needed for secure data exchange, monitoring, and threat intelligence relevant to lab systems.
  • Collaborate with pathology, lab techs, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, and operations teams to translate workflow needs into functional system requirements.
  • Perform system troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and end-to-end testing to ensure quality and data accuracy.
  • Manage configuration updates, version upgrades, change requests, regression testing, validation cycles, and documentation.
  • Improve laboratory efficiency by identifying workflow issues, optimizing ordering/resulting pathways, and reducing manual tasks within the lab.
  • Coordinate integration workflows across related systems such as Beaker AP/CP, Resolute, Orders, Radiant, and third-party lab instruments.
  • Lead or participate in project management activities including requirements gathering, timelines, scope tracking, stakeholder communication, and go-live support.

Job description

Type: Contract (5 months, with chance for extension and/or permanent conversion)

Location: Remote

Summary: We are seeking an experienced Epic Beaker Analyst to support our partner's laboratory, pathology, and diagnostic operations through expert configuration, optimization, and maintenance of the Epic Beaker Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP) modules. This role works closely with lab leadership, pathology teams, and IT stakeholders to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant laboratory workflows across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Serve on the LIS team supporting Epic Beaker AP and CP, including build, configuration, workflows, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Support laboratory operations such as specimen processing, order workflows, results reporting, AP case management, and cross-department integrations.
  • Utilize Data Innovations to support instrument interfacing, device connectivity, analyzer rules, workflow automations, and middleware configurations.
  • Apply OTX (Open Threat Exchange) as needed for secure data exchange, monitoring, and threat intelligence relevant to lab systems.
  • Collaborate with pathology, lab techs, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, and operations teams to translate workflow needs into functional system requirements.
