Job description

Reporting to the EPC Director, this role serves as the primary operational and commercial lead for the mobile/onsite EPC Lab. The successful candidate acts with a high degree of autonomy and independent judgment to manage regional and onsite accounts, drive full-cycle sales, and oversee the mobile calibration facility's daily operations. This position blends advanced technical calibration duties with strategic account management, quoting, and business development.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Independently perform the end-to-end sales function, including prospecting, calibration pricing, and closing sales for calibration services and equipment.
  • Exercise independent discretion to generate complex quotes and structure pricing.
  • Serve as the primary account manager for assigned territory/clients, making autonomous decisions to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
  • Autonomously manage the mobile/onsite EPC Lab as an independent business unit, overseeing daily schedule, inventory, compliance, and operational workflows.
  • Oversee and execute all administrative sales functions, including independently processing sales orders and closing work orders in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Manage shipping tasks and coordinate the secure, direct delivery of precision equipment to customers.
  • Perform routine calibration on Electrical/Electronics, Dimensional, Torque, Pressure, Force, and Thermodynamic instruments using precision reference standards.
  • Independently evaluate and troubleshoot non-operational instruments and perform necessary repairs.
  • Work closely with Metrologists, Technical Managers, Metrology Engineers, and the Laboratory Manager to ensure assigned work is completed efficiently.
  • Participate in inter- and intra-laboratory proficiency testing and adhere to all Michelli and customer documentation/retention standards. Must demonstrate rigorous attention to detail related to the quality of work.
  • Complete daily preventative maintenance checks on assigned company vehicles, manage fleet compliance, and verify/maintain inventory levels of the assigned mobile area.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings on assigned customer sites. Agree to and pass ongoing general and site-specific safety training, as well as background, drug, and alcohol screenings.
  • Attend recertification meetings per customer policies and participate in a training pipeline for full-cycle management of assets on large-scale facilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Highly proficient computer skills, including CRM/ERP software, internal databases, and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Two or more years of experience in Calibration or a related technical field preferred. Proven experience in technical sales, quoting, and account management is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently, managing time effectively, and making sound, autonomous business decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including patience, conflict de-escalation, and reliable communication.
  • Advanced technical reading comprehension skills with experience across a variety of technical disciplines.
  • Basic knowledge of FLSA standards, industry regulations, reporting procedures, and recordkeeping practices.
  • Associate degree in a technical field, or Military experience/training in Measurement Science or Calibration preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, and up to 24 lbs constantly.
  • Ability to alternate between sitting and standing as needed.
  • Travel is required 75% of the time, functioning autonomously in the field.
  • The general travel area is within a 100-mile radius of the office. Must maintain a valid driver's license, drive a company-issued vehicle, and adhere to all state and local laws.
