Job summary

Worley in Houston seeks an experienced Materials Manager to lead planning, control and delivery of project materials across EPC/EPCM projects. You will coordinate with engineering, procurement, contracts, construction and project management to keep materials on schedule and within budget.

You will develop materials strategies, oversee teams, ensure data integrity in ERP systems and drive continuous improvement while prioritizing safety and quality across the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in Materials Control or Materials Management within EPC/EPCM project environments.
  • Experience leading materials management teams on large, complex industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC/EPCM materials management processes, systems, and industry best practices.
  • Experience managing the complete materials lifecycle from planning through receipt, storage, distribution, preservation, and final disposition.
  • Strong understanding of construction-driven materials planning and coordination across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction functions.
  • Experience supporting pipe, structural steel, and module fabrication activities.
  • Working knowledge of Construction Work Packages (CWP), Advanced Work Packages (AWP), and Procurement Work Packages (PWP).
  • Experience using enterprise materials management systems such as AVEVA ERM, SmartPlant Materials, SAP, Oracle, MMS, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze complex datasets and develop meaningful reports.
  • Experience using reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or other data analytics platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse, multidisciplinary, and geographically dispersed teams.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Flexibility to travel for project assignments and work adjusted schedules when project needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of project materials management from planning to final disposition.
  • Develop and implement project Materials Management Plans and Procedures.
  • Manage day-to-day materials management team; coach and guide.
  • Ensure compliance with Worley policies and Code of Conduct.
  • Coordinate materials activities across engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, fabrication, and PM.
  • Plan material requirements aligning engineering deliverables, construction priorities, procurement, and execution.
  • Oversee receipt, storage, handling, and disposal of project materials.
  • Develop bulk procurement and execution strategies; minimize waste.
  • Identify contingency requirements for bulk materials.
  • Monitor availability, shortages, delivery, and inventory; resolve supply chain challenges.
  • Support CWPs, AWPs, PWPs development.
  • Maintain materials data in enterprise systems (AVEVA ERM, SAP, Oracle, MMS, etc).
  • Produce materials reports and performance metrics for decision-making.
  • Participate in risk assessments and mitigation for materials.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Support continuous improvement of processes and systems.
