Job summary

Gunvor Group in Houston seeks an EPA Trading Compliance Analyst to support state and federal fuel regulatory compliance and sustainability initiatives. The role involves handling documentation, tracking EPA credits, and coordinating audits with external counsel and regulators.

The ideal candidate brings 5–7 years of EPA/regulatory experience, strong data skills, and the ability to work with trading and operations teams. Travel to Houston four days a week is expected.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university is required.
  • 5–7 years of EPA and state regulatory experience related to motor fuels.
  • Experience working with external counsel to verify environmental requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, verify, reconcile, and retain documentation such as lab analyses, CBP records, PTDs, and others.
  • Track and reconcile inventories to confirm EPA requirements for RINs, benzene, and sulfur credits.
  • Monitor and resolve discrepancies and communicate with traders.
  • Confirm deficits/surpluses of credits and report to front office and operations.
  • Manage RINs reporting via EMTS and coordinate audits with EPA/state authorities.
  • Advise operations and traders on regulations and associated risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal fuel regulations and prepare annual attestations with consultants.
  • Administer LCFS reporting for Gunvor's refined products and renewables trading desks.
  • Liaise with external counsel and experts on regulatory updates and requirements.
  • Represent Gunvor on regulatory groups and assist in training front office and operations.
