Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. in West Sacramento, CA is seeking a Journeyman HVAC Technician to maintain and repair central plant equipment, including large chillers and cooling towers. The role requires on-call availability and a strong background in chiller systems and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include testing, start-ups, and commissioning, plus preventative maintenance and on-site troubleshooting. A valid driver’s license and EPA certification are required, with competitive salary and benefits

Qualifications

• 5 years of journeyman level experience in commercial/industrial HVAC.
• Experience with chillers (100 tons and larger), cooling towers, and central plants.
• EPA certification required.
• On-call availability in rotation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment including large chillers and auxiliary equipment.
• Overhaul centrifugal chillers a plus.
• Rigging knowledge and safe handling of heavy equipment.
• Support for repairs from delivery to completion.
• Be available for emergency service calls on a rotating basis.
• Test, program, start-up and commission systems on-site.
• Schedule and perform site-wide maintenance on chillers, towers, and central plant equipment.
• Perform daily and monthly preventative maintenance on related equipment.
• Ensure maintenance is completed within scheduled time and month.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors and coworkers.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting and on-site maintenance.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and comply with policies.
