Job summary

UnityPoint Health – Des Moines is seeking a Cath Lab RN in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab to join a highly skilled cardiovascular care team. You will deliver direct, specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the EP and Cardiac Cath Lab, collaborating with physicians, technologists, and fellow nurses to ensure safe, effective patient care.

This role requires an Iowa RN license and a minimum of 12 months acute RN experience; RN Residency is available

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program.
• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• Minimum of twelve months acute RN experience; RN Residency program for new grads if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching and making referrals for continuity of care.
• Develops an individual plan of care with patient/family and health care team.
• Completes documentation to ensure an accurate legal record of patient care.
• Delivers high-quality care using nursing processes in EP/Cath Lab per policies and standards.
• Assesses and uses teaching strategies appropriate to patient ages, cultures, and readiness to learn.

Education
