Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab at our Hyde Park campus. You will provide specialized nursing care during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac EP procedures such as ablations and pacemaker/ICD implantation, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient‑centered care.

The role requires a BSN, active IL RN license, CPR/BLS and ACLS, with experience in acute/critical care.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required from an accredited program.
• Active Illinois RN license and current CPR/BLS.
• ACLS certification required.
• Experience in acute or critical care settings.
• Preferred EP Lab or Cardiac Cath Lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients undergoing invasive EP procedures.
• Assess patients and document condition, interventions and responses.
• Prepare patients, review histories, medications and readiness.
• Administer medications and monitor sedation per protocol.
• Monitor rhythms, hemodynamics and patient responses during procedures.
• Identify complications and initiate appropriate actions.
• Support sterile technique, equipment readiness and positioning.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and post‑care.
• Collaborate with physicians and EP team for safe care.
• Maintain emergency and life-support competency.
