Job summary

HCA Florida West Marion Hospital is seeking an Electrophysiology Technician II for the Cath Lab to support EP procedures and protocol development. You will cross-train lab staff to EP procedures to reach competency and patient safety goals.

Ideal candidates have Cath Lab technician experience, BLS/ACLS, and RCES certification, with a focus on precise documentation and patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or health science degree with current certification/registration.
  • Experience working in the Cath Lab as a Technician is required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Current RCES certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize all pressure forms and hemodynamic parameters recorded.
  • Utilize supplies and equipment with efficiency.
  • Assess physiological and psychological needs of each patient in CVL holding area.
  • Document all information in a complete, concise and accurate manner.
  • Achieve hemostasis effectively with minimal discomfort and bleeding.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Serves in the capacity of the Electrophysiology Technician; assisting in patient care through procedures. Directly involved in assisting with EP procedures and the development of protocols. Cross trains cath lab staff to EP procedures to achieve a level of comfort in working with the new procedures and meet developed competencies that are developed.

  • Responsible for recognizing all pressure forms and hemodynamic parameters recorded.
  • Utilizes supplies and equipment with efficiency.
  • Assesses the physiological and psychological needs of each patient that is admitted to the CVL holding area.
  • Documents all appropriate information in complete, concise, neat, and accurate manner.
  • Effectively achieves hemostasis causing minimum discomfort and bleeding.
What qualifications you will need:
  • A graduate of an accredited program in Cardiovascular Technology required OR graduate of a degree granting program in a health science (includes, but not limited to, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, nursing or paramedic) with a current certification or registration required.
  • Experience working in the Cath Lab as a Technician required.
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • A current certification as a Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
