Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas seeks a Physician Assistant for primarily outpatient care with potential inpatient rounding in the future. The role supports multiple specialties under physician supervision and requires credentialing, privileging, and independence in billing as an independent provider.

You will assess patients, order and interpret labs, prescribe medications, develop comprehensive treatment plans, counsel patients and families, and document outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current TX PA license.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Certification by NCCPA is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and mental condition of patients and obtain medical histories.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe or recommend medications and other treatments. Develop treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Counsel patients and families about medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintain records detailing treatment plans and outcomes and ensure proper referrals when needed.
• Provide consultation for conditions related to the specialty and manage patients in various healthcare settings.
