Arista Networks in Nashua, NH seeks a Software Engineer for EOS Layer 2 and Network Services. You will design, develop and maintain Layer 2 protocols, network management, and security features using C, C++, and Python.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/EE/CE + 3 years experience, MS + 1 year, or PhD, or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in C or C++ and Python
• Software development experience with Linux
• Understanding and ability to apply software engineering principles
• Strong problem solving and software troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a small team environment
• Hands on experience developing networking or distributed systems software is a plus
• Knowledge of layer 2 protocols like 802.1X, MACsec, LACP, STP, etc is a plus
• Knowledge of network management and monitoring protocols like AAA, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SFlow, IPFIX, OpenConfig etc is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Layer 2, network management, monitoring and security features using C, C++, and Python
• Understand requirements from customers, product managers and field engineers, and write functional specifications
• Own all aspects of development and delivery of software
• Build automated tests and infrastructure to test the features
• Work with support engineers and customers to troubleshoot and resolve problems in their networks
• Work with the System Test Engineers to analyze problems found in their tests and provide fixes for those problems
