Job summary

The United States Navy seeks Bomb Technician (EOD) to locate, identify, render safe, and dispose of explosive threats on land, at sea, and underwater using robotics, diving and explosive skills to protect forces and civilians.

Expect global missions and intense physical and mental demands, with frequent integration with fleet units and interagency partners. Training pathways cover EOD assessments, diving, and advanced demolition techniques.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to serve in the United States Navy; citizenship/work status as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent for enlisted positions; bachelor’s for officer programs not required here.
• Background screening and security clearance eligibility as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Detonate and demolish hazardous munitions, pyrotechnics, and outdated explosives.
• Neutralize ordnance including sea mines, torpedoes, depth charges, and IEDs.
• Remotely disable unsafe ordnance using robotic and diagnostic tech.
• Conduct parachute and helicopter insertion operations.
• Clear waterways of mines to support ships and submarines.
• Provide explosive ordnance support to law enforcement agencies.
