Zusammenfassung

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks an Engineering Section Leader in the Effector-Optics Department to lead and shape EO programs. You will split time between engineering duties and providing functional leadership to the EO Integration and Test section.

The role demands a STEM degree and 7–10+ years of experience in electro-optical systems, system integration, and hardware test, with strong data analysis and test automation skills using MATLAB, Python, or C++.

Qualifikationen

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 7–10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Experience leading a team, including performance discussions and career development.
• Experience with electro-optical systems, imaging systems, system integration, or hardware test.
• Experience with system-level integration and verification of complex hardware.
• Experience with test data analysis and interpretation.
• Advanced degrees in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related STEM fields preferred.
• Experience with imaging systems (IR, visible, or multi-spectral).
• Experience integrating EO hardware and embedded electronics.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++ for data analysis and test automation.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory measurement equipment and environmental test setups.
• Experience supporting products transitioning from development to production.

Aufgaben

• Provide leadership, guidance, and technical direction to EO section members while aligning objectives with department priorities.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, employee development, and technical excellence.
• Support hiring, staffing, and workforce planning while balancing business needs with growth.
• Drive department initiatives, cross-functional collaboration, and model RTX values.
• Coach and mentor employees, address performance concerns, and support career development.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight of EO laboratory capabilities and operations.
• Lead performance discussions and formal reviews, communicating strengths and development opportunities.
• Support EO engineering: development, qualification, integration, verification and production transition.
• Collaborate across optics, electronics, mechanical, and software disciplines for integration and testing.
• Develop and execute system-level test plans, automated tests, and data acquisition tools.
• Analyze test data, build performance models, verify requirements, and investigate root causes.
• Design test fixtures and support equipment; troubleshoot hardware issues.
• Support qualification and production activities with technical reviews and process improvements.
