Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Cypress, CA is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple EO/IR space-sensing programs. You will oversee integrated master schedules, manage risks, and coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and contracts to meet objectives.

You will interface with senior leadership, drive program performance, and ensure compliance with regulations while delivering on-time, on-budget results in a dynamic defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related discipline; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant program-management, project-management, engineering, or technical leadership experience, preferably EO/IR space-sensing products.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical development programs from proposal/startup through design, integration, test, delivery, and sustainment or follow-on support.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and integrate work across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, test, finance, and contracts.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and executing integrated master schedules, resource plans, budgets, and program performance reporting.
• Experience with earned value management, cost and schedule performance measurement, variance analysis, and forecasting.
• Experience with risk and opportunity management and escalation of critical issues to leadership.
• Familiarity with aerospace/defense program execution, export-control, and government regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily execution of technology-development and flight-hardware EO/IR programs per contractual, technical, cost, schedule, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and lead the integrated product team structure from kickoff through closeout.
• Develop and execute integrated master schedules and program plans with linked milestones.
• Coordinate across system, subsystem, payload, optical, sensor, electronics, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and test functions.
• Establish and manage baselines for scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and technical performance.
• Monitor contract budgets and report program status to senior management.
• Perform schedule/cost variance analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Identify, assess, document, and mitigate program risks and opportunities.
• Lead program reviews and ensure action items are tracked and closed.
• Serve as primary customer interface and coordinate internal resolution of issues.
• Support contract and subcontract negotiations and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering leadership to resolve technical execution barriers and resource needs.
• Support material execution and supplier performance and mitigate supply risks.
• Contribute to bid and proposal activities and follow-on business opportunities.
