Job summary

Mainsail Lodging & Development is seeking a Server Assistant at Epicurean Hotel in Atlanta. Job Summary

The Server Assistant at plays an important role in delivering a seamless and high-quality dining experience. Working closely with servers, culinary staff, and restaurant management, the Server Assistant supports the service team by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper service flow throughout the dining area. The Server Assistant assists with table maintenance, guest service, stocking, restaurant setup and breakdown, and coordination between the front and back of house. This position is ideal for an individual who demonstrates strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, professionalism, and a passion for hospitality and elevated dining experiences.

Core Responsibilities
  • Support servers by clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables efficiently between courses and after guest departure.
  • Greet guests with a welcoming and professional attitude.
  • Provide water service and replenish bread and other table necessities.
  • Communicate with guests and assist in ensuring their needs are met promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the dining room.
  • Clear plates, glassware, and utensils from tables as needed.
  • Wipe down tables and chairs and sweep floors as necessary.
  • Maintain clean and organized service stations.
  • Stock service areas with silverware, glassware, plates, napkins, condiments, and other required supplies.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to support the timely delivery of food to guests.
  • Coordinate with servers to ensure food is delivered to the correct table and that special requests are communicated appropriately.
  • Assist with restaurant setup prior to service, including arranging tables, preparing side stations, and ensuring guest areas are ready for service.
  • Assist with post-service breakdown, cleaning, stocking, and organization.
  • Follow all restaurant health, safety, sanitation, and food-handling standards.
  • Demonstrate positive teamwork and communicate effectively with servers, chefs, managers, and other restaurant staff.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the restaurant.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Assist in other areas of restaurant service as directed by management.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of guest service.
Qualification Standards

Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is advantageous but not required. Previous experience in a similar server assistant, busser, food runner, or restaurant support role is a plus. Experience in a fine dining, luxury hotel, or upscale restaurant environment is preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Professional and positive demeanor. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a team. Ability to use technology, including tablets and other service-related devices. Reliable transportation required. Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
