JOB SUMMARY

The Envista Senior Data Architect is a critical member of the enterprise data and analytics (D&A) team. This position works with D&A analysts to translate functional requirements into finished data and analytics products.

As a Senior Data Architect, you will be part of a Data and Analytics team that is modernizing and transforming our data and reporting capabilities by implementing a new modernized data architecture. You should have hands-on data architecture experience, guide and mentor the team on best practices, and perform hands-on coding daily.

This role involves building and supporting cloud data pipelines around the enterprise data warehouse, migrating from On-Premises to Cloud, advocating for continuous improvement in data quality and pipeline management, and ensuring a strong data model strategy.

The Data and Analytics team supports over 3,000 users across 30 global sites using multiple BI tools, including an enterprise data warehouse and a downstream master data management application.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Architect complex data solutions in Azure and Snowflake Cloud environments.
• Guide team on migrating processes and data from On-Premises Oracle/SQL Server to Azure cloud and Snowflake.
• Maintain Azure components and services.
• Drive Data Quality and Data Lineage initiatives.
• Create a Data Products ecosystem and a Data Catalog for user self-service and data exploration.
• Enable automation for deployment using CI/CD practices.
• Implement data pipelines for ingestion, standardization, and transformation into business datasets.
• Perform unit and integration testing of data pipelines.
• Handle data integration at scale with Azure Data Factory.
• Conduct code reviews.
• Collaborate with Analysts and SMEs to translate business needs into curated datasets.
• Document data pipelines for maintainability.
• Work with system owners to incorporate business changes into data pipelines.
• Design scalable data architecture for future growth, including warehousing, streaming analytics, and visualization.
• Assist in testing, governance, data quality, training, and documentation.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand, interpret, and deliver technical solutions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field with 12+ years in data engineering, or Master’s with 8+ years.
• At least 4 years of experience with Azure cloud platforms.
• At least 4 years of experience with Snowflake data warehouses.
• Hands-on Data Modeling experience (Kimball, Imon methodologies).
• Experience across all phases of data analytics development: requirements, architecture, design, testing, deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience tuning ETL/ELT processes and databases for large datasets.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on with Data Ingestion tools like ADF.
• Experience with transformation tools like Coalesce is a plus.
• Ability to maintain and improve existing applications.
• Excellent team player, mentor, eager to learn new technologies.
• Experience with Master Data Management tools like Profisee is highly desirable.

Target Salary Range: $96,300 - $178,900. Compensation depends on various factors including location, skills, experience, and performance. Benefits may include bonuses, health benefits, 401K, etc.
