Job summary

Malace HR in Dearborn, MI is seeking Environmental Waste Technicians for a factory setting. The pay starts at $15.50/hour; after direct hire, it becomes a union position paying $18/hour.

Shift options include C shift (Fri-Sat 6a-4:30p, Sun-Mon 6p-4:30a) and B shift (Tue-Fri 6pm-4:30a). You will collect and segregate waste, operate a forklift when trained, perform daily inspections, and help manage waste inventories and spill response.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must pass a drug test.
• Forklift experience preferred; training offered.

Responsibilities

• Collect trash, recyclables, hazardous waste and other waste streams and transport to disposal areas.
• Segregate, sort, and package waste for off-site shipment per EPA requirements.
• Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for disposal.
• Perform daily equipment inspections prior to use.
• Maintain the Accumulation Area and label drums.
• Assist in spill response and containerization of cleaned materials.

Seeking Environmental Waste Technicians for factory setting in Dearborn, MI

$15.50/hour. Once hired direct, this is union position and pays $18/hour

• C Shift – Friday-Saturday 6a-430p, Sunday-Monday 6p-430A
• B Shift- Tuesday-Friday, 6pm-430A

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

• Collect trash, recyclables, hazardous waste, scrap metal, and other waste streams throughout the plant and transport them to disposal containers or storage rooms.
• Segregate, sort, and package waste streams for off-site shipment in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.
• Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfills, recycling centers, and other disposal sites.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
• Clean and maintain the organization and compliance of the 90-day Accumulation Area, including sweeping the floor, mopping the floor, and labeling drums.
• Assist the supervisor in responding to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids, and containerizing cleaned-up materials for proper disposal.
• Assist the Resource Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick-up, and waste organization.
• Perform inspections of waste storage areas and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during inspections.
• Inventory and inspect waste spill kits.
• Document and inform the Resource Manager of any contamination in the plant’s recycling and waste containers.
• Maintain and complete necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections, and other required activities.
• Operate a fork truck to load and unload trucks.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

• Forklift experience.

Preferred Forklift experience. MUST be willing to be trained on forklift either way.
