Job summary

MPS Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team at the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, OH. This position handles solid and hazardous waste, follows plant safety guidelines, and supports the waste management program on first shift.

Primary duties include collecting waste streams, loading for disposal, daily equipment inspections, assisting with spill response, and maintaining waste inventories and documentation. Hours are 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in waste management.

Responsibilities

• Collect waste streams throughout the plant and transport to disposal.
• Load trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill or recycling centers.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
• Assist with chemical spill response by placing adsorbents and containerizing debris for disposal.
• Assist with daily supply delivery and waste organization.
• Document contamination and inform Resource Manager of issues in recycling/waste containers.
• Maintain waste inventories and inspections documentation.
• Operate forklift to load/unload.
• Follow plant safety guidelines.
• Sort and bale recyclable material.

Job description

MPS Group, Inc., is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team at the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant located in Avon Lake, OH. This individual will be responsible for handling solid and hazardous waste at the plant.

Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities and Job Duties

• Collect trash, recyclables, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transports to disposal.
• Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center, and any other disposal streams.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use.
• Assist supervisor with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal.
• Assist Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization.
• Document and inform Resource Manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling and waste containers.
• Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required.
• Operate fork truck to load/unload trucks.
• Follow all plant-related safety guidelines.
• Sort and bale recyclable material.
