Job summary

SA-TECH in Dugway Proving Ground, Utah is hiring an Environmental Testing Technician to lead MIL-STD-810 environmental qualification testing. You will plan and execute climatic, dynamic, and environmental tests on aerospace, defense, and industrial systems, using advanced chambers and shakers, while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires EPA 608, AMMO handling, WDTC certifications, and HAZWOPER training, with duties including test planning, data analysis, and report generation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• EPA 608 certification within one year of starting job.
• AMMO Handler Certification within one year of starting job.
• WDTC Chamber Operator Level III Certification, and Vibration Operator Level III Certification.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (or obtain within one year).
• Knowledge of commercial/industrial refrigeration units including cascade refrigeration systems.
• Strong HVAC mechanical skills (install/maintain/repair motors, compressors, fans, refrigerant lines).
• Ability to read electrical schematics, understand refrigeration cycles, and troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document environmental qualification tests in accordance with MIL-STD-810 and related standards.
• Support the environmental qualification lifecycle including climatic and dynamic testing.
• Analyze customer specifications to determine applicable MIL-STD-810 test methods and tailoring.
• Configure environmental chambers and testing equipment (temperature/humidity, altitude, solar load).
• Install and validate instrumentation (thermocouples, accelerometers, data acquisition).
• Maintain detailed test logs, configuration records, and prepare qualification test reports.
• Operate and troubleshoot test systems, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Perform a wide range of climatic and dynamic tests and interpret results.
