Job summary

Bowhead seeks an Environmental Test Technician to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. The Technician will provide thermal and shock testing support for the Strategic Systems Guidance, Navigation and Control Division.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree preferred, 3–5 years of hardware experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Collaboration with test operators and design staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of technical experience with high-reliability systems.
• Hardware problem identification and debugging experience.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Effective communication across all levels and teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage test schedules with assistance from leads.
• Support weekly status meetings to coordinate schedules and report testing status.
• Schedule and submit test requests to facilities.
• Coordinate fixtures design, development, and fabrication.
• Interface with machine shop during fixture fabrication.
• Assist in generating and reviewing test plans and procedures.
• Transport and coordinate delivery of equipment to test facilities.
• Interface with test operators to set up testing.
• Monitor and observe tests with leads.
• Co-author Test Problem Reports and Test Summary Reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
