Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Environmental Test Technician to set up and execute vibration, thermal vacuum and thermal cycling tests on space flight hardware. You will work directly with the test conductor to ensure accurate test execution and data collection.

You will install and operate instrumentation, interpret drawings and procedures, and help maintain SOPs while supporting safe, high-quality testing and on-time delivery of test reports.

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings and procedures.
• Ability to interpret test procedures and run logs.
• Experience documenting test data and final reports.

Job description

Set up and execute environmental tests including vibration testing, shock testing, thermal vacuum and thermal cycle testing. Work directly with the test conductor to perform the testing on space flight hardware.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute environmental tests of space flight hardware using a variety of specialized equipment and tools, including electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, thermal cycling chambers, torque wrenches, adhesives, etc.
• Install and operate test instrumentation and other specialized test equipment, including accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, test procedures, etc.
• Work with engineering to define and refine standard operating procedures
• Record, prepare, organize, and deliver test data, run logs, and other relevant documentation for inclusion in final test reports
• Oversee test operations as required
• Support initiatives to maintain safe operations, ensure product quality, reduce lead time/labor hours, etc. through environmental test
• Operate various materials handling equipment including forklifts overhead cranes, aerial lift equipment, flight vehicle and sub-assembly transportation equipment, truck/tractor trailer combinations and other ground support equipment as required
• Meets necessary certification as required
• Performs incidental related duties as assigned or required
