Job summary

Vanguard EMS, Inc. in Beaverton, OR is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer - Environmental to own production environmental test equipment, fixtures, and processes.

You will lead design, qualification, and maintenance of test rigs and collaborate with Production, Quality, Product, Suppliers, and Customers. Ideal candidates have an engineering degree, 2+ years in environmental testing, experience with thermal chambers, shakers, TVAC, and proficiency in Python, C++, C#, LabVIEW for test automation

Qualifications

• Engineering bachelor’s degree or higher (Mechanical or related) or equivalent experience.
• Customer service oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and qualify environmental test equipment that meets customers’ requirements.
• Design test fixtures, plates, harnessing for environmental test applications.
• Lead validation and verification of new test equipment and tooling.
• Establish facilities requirements for new environmental test area and collaborate with Facilities on upgrades.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Automate processes and data collection for efficiency and monitoring.
• Collect, analyze and drive action from qualification and production test data.
• Dispositions nonconforming products and leads RCAs.
