Lead Test Execution: Author sine vibration test plans, define base input levels, and act as Test Director during testing to ensure safe, timely execution with lab personnel.
Force & Response Limiting: Implement advanced force and response limiting (notching) techniques to protect flight hardware.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with multidisciplinary engineering teams during spacecraft integration and prepare for critical Test Readiness Reviews.
Reporting & Reviews: Prepare tailored test summaries for launch vehicle integration, participate in Failure Review Boards (FRBs), and drive continuous process improvements.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience: 6+ years of hands-on experience in swept sine vibration testing of spacecraft structures.
Core Technical Expertise:
Test planning, instrumentation selection, base input control, and signal data validation (time and frequency domains).
Strong working knowledge of MATLAB, MS Excel, and standard data acquisition systems.
Solid understanding of Single-Degree-of-Freedom (SDOF) dynamics and closed-form techniques.
Hands-on leadership in random vibration, acoustic, and shock testing.
Basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience using Nastran.
Ability to write scripts/code (e.g., Python, MATLAB APIs) to automate data analysis and testing workflows.
Experience setting environmental test criteria for space hardware.
