Job summary

GrayMar Environmental Services, LLC in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Environmental Technician to support non-emergency and emergency response tasks under supervision. The role involves confined space entry, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, decontamination, and operating field equipment safely.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and at least 6 months of general labor experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 6+ months of general labor experience.

Responsibilities

• Wear PPE properly and adhere to safety procedures.
• Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions.
• Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights.
• Operates light and heavy equipment including Forklifts, Aerial Lifts, Boom Lifts, Skid Steers, Excavators, Pressure washers, pumps, and company vehicles.
• Attends mandatory training to earn certifications and to obtain information specific to responsibilities.
• Ensure all proper paperwork is signed and submitted.
• Works “On-Call” based on the rotating schedule for Emergency Response; may require out-of-town travel.
• Comply with on-going drug testing and physicals as required by the company.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
