Job Summary

SPATCO is seeking an energetic Compliance Testing Technician to join our environmental team. The technician will perform inspections and tests on underground storage and dispensing equipment, including dri-sump testing, tank and line testing, spill bucket testing, and automatic tank gauge installation, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local codes.

Essential Functions
  • Perform inspections by examining monitor histories and verifying alarm statuses.
  • Conduct testing of dispensing systems and devices, checking leak detectors and sensors placement.
  • Ensure mechanical and electronic leak detectors are functioning properly.
  • Perform precision testing of fuel lines to ensure integrity.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and recommendations.
  • Inspect containment areas for integrity and cleanliness.
  • Diagnose and perform minor repairs on fuel systems.
  • Communicate technical issues clearly to customers, including non-technical individuals.
  • Receive training on equipment use and safety procedures.
Experience, Competencies, and Education
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience as a field technician is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and perform physical tasks like crouching, bending, and kneeling.
  • Good driving record and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Adherence to safety policies, including use of personal protective equipment.
  • Strong work ethic and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and follow all company procedures.
