Our client is seeking an entry-level Environmental Field Chemist responsible for sorting and transporting materials and waste, ensuring safety and compatibility at all times during lab pack services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Ensure health & safety policies are followed at all times.
2. Provide lab packing services at customer sites, maintaining compliance with RCRA and DOT regulations and company SOPs.
3. Sample and characterize customer waste as necessary.
4. Assist in chemical segregation, packing, and transportation paperwork.
5. Prepare supplies and travel to various sites for lab pack services.
6. Assist in characterizing materials at field sites.
7. Follow proper placarding and load segregation requirements during transportation.
8. Develop good client relations through effective communication.
9. Direct field technicians and drivers assisting with waste collection.
10. Possess introductory knowledge of high hazard materials management and cylinder handling.

Education: A four-year college degree (Science or environmental majors preferred) or 2+ years of related experience.

Experience: Prior lab packing or environmental waste experience preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities: Must pass pre-employment physical, DOT physical, and drug screen; obtain a Class B CDL with hazmat endorsement within 6 months; meet all driving qualifications; and pass Motor Vehicle Record checks. Ability to work safely and maintain alertness is essential.
