Job summary

CSG Consultants is seeking a Technical Studies Manager to lead the Environmental Planning practice in California. You will oversee specialized air quality, GHG, health risk, energy, and noise assessments, guiding project teams and ensuring CEQA/NEPA compliance.

You will drive business development, mentor staff, and manage budgets while collaborating with the Director of Environmental Planning. This hybrid, local-role emphasizes growth and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in air quality and/or noise compliance, including leadership and project management roles.
• Familiarity with federal, state and local air quality and climate change laws, CEQA/NEPA requirements.
• Deep understanding of the environmental consulting industry and CEQA processing.
• Experience with modeling software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public hearings or client presentations.
• Valid California Class C driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Technical Manager for specialized technical studies.
• Develop a Technical Studies Business Plan with growth benchmarks.
• Lead and review modeling for Air Quality, GHG, Energy, and Noise/Vibration.
• Prepare, review, and finalize technical studies in CEQA/NEPA contexts.
• Manage team budget, performance and workload to targets.
• Mentor staff and foster a high performing collaborative culture.
• Identify market opportunities to grow the technical services practice.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
