Job summary

AdventHealth in Castle Rock, Colorado is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to join our team. You will clean patient and public areas, follow infection control procedures, and use bed management systems to help maintain bed throughput.

The role requires strong organizational, communication, and safety skills. Typical duties include stocking supplies, handling linen, and site-wide sanitization, with an emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Organizational skills are required.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication abilities are necessary.
• Excellent customer relations skills are essential.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Strong command of English in reading, writing, and speaking.
• Basic computer skills to operate standard office software.
• Demonstrates positive communication and interacts well with the public and staff.
• Knowledge of environmental services equipment, cleaning practices, and chemicals is preferred.
• Ability to use department-specific systems and hand-held tech as needed.
• Must read MSDS, product labels, reports and perform simple arithmetic.
• Full knowledge of basic environmental duties is required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including trash collection and surface sanitization.
• Demonstrates knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and cleaning equipment operation.
• Documents all work performed for records.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and supplies in assigned areas as needed.
• Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up.
• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms and offices in assigned areas.
• Cleans and disinfects areas with bodily fluids per facility standards.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.
• Uses cleaning/trash carts and other janitorial supplies as needed.
• Uses Bed Management system to maintain bed throughput via handheld tech.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Documents all work performed.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
• Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up.
• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.
• Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.
• Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies.
• Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed throughput, using hand-held technology for tracking.
