Job summary

AdventHealth in Manchester, Kentucky is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain clean, safe patient and public areas daily.

You will stock supplies, follow infection control procedures, operate cleaning equipment, and document work performed using the facility’s systems.

This part-time role offers opportunities to contribute to patient comfort and hospital safety in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including trash removal and sanitizing surfaces.
• Stocks supplies and cleaning solutions in assigned areas.
• Uses Bed Management system or facility equivalents to track bed flow and cleaning tasks.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste following procedures.
• Cleans and disinfects areas with bodily fluids per facility standards.

Job Description

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking.
• Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.
• Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards. Documents all work performed.
• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field Required
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition Required
• Able to communicate in English Required
• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard Required
• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software Required

Education

Work Experience
