Job summary

Briarwood Village is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to manage the community’s physical plant, grounds and equipment, ensuring a safe environment for residents. The role includes supervising maintenance, ordering supplies, and training staff on safety procedures.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily cleaning, maintenance tasks, and emergency coverage. Strong emphasis on record-keeping, safety, and service-minded interactions with residents and team members.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have unrestricted driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds including mowing, weeding, raking, trimming and snow shoveling.
• Maintains records for Environmental Services and conducts preventative maintenance.
• Cleans and maintains mechanical and electrical systems.
• Orders and distributes supplies for laundry, housekeeping and maintenance.
• Orients new hires on fire safety, SDS and lock out tag out procedures.
• Participates in the QAPI process.
• Schedules department activities and staffing.
• Keeps building clean and laundry services in good condition.
• Performs heavy scrubbing, waxing and buffing.
• Oversees building during emergencies and outside normal hours.

Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for the community’s physical plant, grounds and equipment in-order to ensure a safe environment.

Position Responsibilities of an Environmental Services Supervisor:

• Repairs and maintains or supervises repairs and maintenance of the physical structure of the facility and equipment or obtains professional maintenance of equipment and/or facility
• Assists in maintaining the grounds including mowing, weeding, raking, trimming and the shovelling of dirt and snow.
• Maintains all records for the Environmental Services departments, conducts preventative maintenance program
• Cleans and maintains all mechanical and electrical systems
• Orders and distributes all supplies for laundry, housekeeping and maintenance
• Orients new hires on fire safety, SDS and lock out tag out procedures
• Participates in the QAPI process
• Responsible for departmental scheduling
• Overall responsibility for the cleanliness of the building and laundry services
• Performs heavy scrubbing, waxing and buffing
• Overall responsibility for the building during emergency situations which may require working outside of normal business hours

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must be licensed to drive without restrictions.
