Job summary

UPMC Hamot is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will perform cleaning duties across patient rooms, public areas, and offices as part of a dedicated hospital team.

This casual, 2nd shift role requires occasional weekend and rotating holiday coverage. If you take pride in high sanitation standards and teamwork, you’ll help ensure the quality of care at our hospital.

Qualifications

• Clean patient rooms, public areas, offices and equipment to hospital standards.
• Move equipment, furniture and blinds as assigned.
• Follow safety and sanitation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Make beds in discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Inspect areas for cleanliness and report problems to supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
• Clean all assigned areas per procedures.
• Maintain and report equipment condition to supervisor.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment and perform spot cleaning as assigned.

As an Environmental Services Associate at UPMC Hamot, you’ll play a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. Your efforts will directly contribute to the quality of care provided at our hospital.

This position is casual, 2nd shift hours. Occasional weekend and rotating holiday coverage required.

Purpose: Clean all aspects of assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, offices and equipment, to meet Hospital and Department standards in order to promote the quality of care rendered in the environment. Move equipment, furniture, boxes, etc. and remove and hang blinds and curtains.
Responsibilities:

• Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, report problems to the supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply.
• Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures.
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned.
