Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a dedicated part-time Environmental Services Associate to join our team. This 8 hr/wk day shift (6:30am–3:00pm) includes weekend and holiday rotation and focuses on cleaning patient rooms, public areas, offices, and equipment to meet hospital standards.

The successful candidate will help promote a safe, healing environment by moving equipment and supplies, following established cleaning procedures, and adhering to safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Follow written and verbal instructions to complete housekeeping duties.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment.
• 18 years old preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make beds in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Inspect areas and report problems to supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations.
• Clean patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment.
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition; report problems.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, boxes; wash walls and spot carpets.

Job description

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a dedicated part-time Environmental Services Associate to join our team. This is an 8hr/wk day shift position, 6:30am-3:00pm, with weekend & holiday rotation. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning all aspects of assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, offices, and equipment, to meet hospital and department standards. This role is crucial in promoting the quality of care rendered in the environment. Responsibilities also include moving equipment, furniture, boxes, and handling blinds and curtains.

Responsibilities:

• Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, report problems to the supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to ensure an adequate supply.
• Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment, following established procedures.
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, report problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, boxes; wash walls, spot carpets, etc., as assigned.

May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.
